Why drink coffee? Do you really need to ask?!
Outside of the fact that coffee is one of the most awesome tasting drinks in the world, coffee also has many apparent health benefits, that make it a no brainer for human consumption! Here are few “facts” that I found when hunting the net.
Just a quick note – this was not written to justify my excessive coffee drinking habit in any way.
It is also written with the complete open mindedness and understanding toward the misguided folks who think coffee consumption is not good for you. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, no matter how silly those opinions might be ( especially to the enlightened people of the world, such as yours truly 😀 ).
This post will also be completely biased in favor of the continued consumption of coffee, and will not show any reports that do not support this premise.
We will only talk about the “good” coffee can/may do for you.
It will also not give any concrete technical, chemical, biological or any other medical reasons for why coffee is good for you. It will assume that you know all that “stuff”.
Therefore, if you are looking for a well balanced read, please move on, this blog post will not only upset you, it may even disappoint you.
If you already support the notion that “coffee is king”, please continue.
Some quick facts first;
About 400 billion cups of coffee are consumed annually – worldwide ( that fact alone is significant – how could that many drinkers be wrong – seriously!)
Coffee (the industry as a whole) provides employment for about 20 million people!
It is the number 2 traded commodity in the world after oil!
65% of North Americans drink coffee daily, making it the number 1 antioxidant in North Amercia.
After regular drinking water, it is the most consumed beverage in North America.
After those compelling tidbits of information, you would think I would hang up the skates and go golfing (a little Canadian saying there). Why would I and why should I go on?!?
Because, we must; so here we go (all “reasons to believe” are hyperlinked for more info);
I could go on and on, but I think that you get the drift. Coffee is obviously, really good for you!
I told you so!
Coffee “is” good for you, and that’s it.
So enjoy your next cup of coffee knowing that all has been put back into perspective. Coffee remains King!!
Ciao for now @kootenayborn
