Listening to Bob Marley @ 34,000 Feet!
I’ve got the iPod on and listening to Bob Marley’s “ Turn Your Lights Down Low . I can barely keep my eyes open, but I really don’t want to sleep. That’s actually a lie; I really want to sleep, but it is only 9:30 and we are an hour and half from landing in Vancouver.
Kinda relaxed and cruising at 34,000 feet, and then I am startled for the second or third time now by the Captain letting us know that we are to be seated, seatbelts on as we are once again heading into turbulence. At this point, I could give a you know what about smooth air, I just want to land and get into my own bed after being away for 5 days this time and for the third weekend in a row.
This latest trip; our London Drugs Pharmacy Continuing Education Conference in Tucson, has been a huge success. This is by far, my most favourite trip that we do as a company. It is the worse in terms of workload, but the locations are always nice and I come away, “enlightened”! It’s a great location, great hotel, and great weather, but it is 6:45 starts, 36 group rotations, 2 large scale dinners, 1 smaller scale and the constant networking. Overall it is very busy, but also very productive.
This is the show that I find out that there are new diseases that are going to get me and old ones that reincarnate and are now worse than before!! I am usually exhausted just from the worry!!
Again with the turbulence!! We know – seatbelts on…..
What I find more amazing than the fact that I probably have more “hidden issues” than I would care to know about; is that our Pharmacies and Pharmacists are more than equipped to handle these issues and are more than willing to help out! Really!
The amount of training that is available, the amount of Vendor support for the training, the amount of internal support to promote and excite the additional training, leaves me with the feeling of pride and confidence in this group of really well educated and well intentioned folks.
The days of the “pill counters” is finally dying or in many cases, dead. Pharmacy today is all about providing the one on one consults that patients and customers demand and cannot get from many other areas of Health Care. I know this may sound really sappy and obviously very biased (remember – I do work for these guys) , but if you could only attend a conference like this, you would be amazed and feel like you are in good hands when you visit a London Drugs Pharmacy.
Crap, iPhone is on its last legs……
(Believe it or not – it is the next day – these iPhones are a PIG on battery life – I charged this thing twice yesterday!!)
I was not going to say much more anyway, other than, come into the stores and put my posting to the test and start asking our Pharmacy Managers for advice and help – you will be pleasantly surprised and I do believe you will walk away either thinking; “No wonder I have always used London Drugs” or “Why have I not used London Drugs in the past”!?!
Check out a few of this link for the latest and greatest clinic that we are offering;
