Should Canadians worry about Bill C-30 – Ask Rick Mercer..
Having been a Conservative (for the most part) for many years now, I can honestly say that I was truly disappointed and rather dismayed when Vic Toews presented this bill to Parliament. Not only because I took a “little” offence to the reference at being tagged a Child Pornographer because I did not support the bill, but also because, as Rick so nicely points out on the Rant, I don’t like be thought of as stupid; and I think that is what this government thinks of Canadians when they present bills such as this one.
Giving government or law enforcement the ability to get at the data and info on our hard drives is a bit much, especially if they dont even have to ask anyone to do so. Pretty freaking scary since the guys doing the peeking have had many leaks of information and have also been hacked. That’s all we all need. Not only can both groups peek at what we are doing, when they want, and without asking, they have proven that they have the ability of having that new found info leaked for us,and or hacked from them! Not overly comforting.
As Canadians, this one should bug us and we need to stay vigilant and put pressure on the Tories to Stay Out of Our Hard Drives.
